ESPI - Economic and Social Policy Institute

ESPI profile

The ESPI Institute was established in 2001 (by the transformation of the nongovernmental organization Group 17 into G17 Institute which changed the name into ESPI Institute – Economic and Social Policy Institute - as of 2006) as a response to significant economic and political changes that took place in Serbia. Challenges of the transition have created necessity to establish scientific and research institute that would set the path for strengthening of civil society’s core values. Having in mind this goal, a multi-faceted approach has been developed, as it implies a number of reforms in many spheres of life, starting from social aspect, macro and micro economic changes, legislation, education, health and environmental sectors. The Institute gathers economists and experts in other social sciences aiming to promote and practically implement the ideas of a modern economy, open and democratic society and the rule of law, through its programs, projects and the entire public activity.
